Terri Fortner-Jackson Hidasar Salukis, Texas Hidasar Salukis was founded in 1971, with the arrival of Ch. Sedeki Hidasar CD bred by Don Weiden, from the breeding of Badshah and Varah. We added a second foundation sire with the addition of Am.Can. Ch. Desert Raider of Arabesque, a grandson of Shah of Daxlore, Knightellington Djado and Ch. Wild Violet of Daxlore. These males bred to bitches of primarily Warm Valley/Pine Paddocks lines, were the foundation of Hidasar Salukis. Daughters of these litters were crossed to Ch. Henrad Khan, line bred on the Knightellington DJ litter through Ch. Ghazala Dionysis, who was in California in the 70’s. The current 9th generation Hidasar puppies are strongly inbred on our foundation. We imported Caravan Sardonyx, from Lotta Brun in 2003, for his wonderful Knightellington/Daxlore/Desertbred bloodlines. We imported his cousin Vanna in 2005. In over our 35+ years in the breed, we have produced over 50 American champions in about 16 litters. We have produced champions in lure coursing, obedience and descendants are open field coursing champions. But mostly we produce long-lived, healthy companions. We breed rarely and only to perpetuate our bloodlines. We welcome our 10th generation, see the Fates page. I started judging in 1981, but retired, and started again in 1991. I now am approved to judge 8 breeds and all breed Junior Showmanship. I was a top winning Junior Handler in the 70’s. |
